(THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!)
The Bookish Dilettante is me.
I'm Kat Meyer. Also known as Kathleen Meyer, also known as Kat J. Meyer, and occasionally known (but seldom referred to as) Kathy Meyer.
(note to self: there are way too many people with my name, or variations of my name. next life, choose more unconventional parents.)
Anyway, I like books. I've been working in publishing of one sort or another for long enough to know better. And, I have a slight addiction to social media ("Hi. My name is @KatMeyer and I'm a TwitterHolic."). Which actually works out pretty well since talking about publishing and marketing and reading books lends itself quite nicely to social media!
When not sporting my "Chief Content Wrangler" hat for my company Next Chapter Communications, I can be found:
- on Twitter, tweeting away with my bookish & social media marketing tweeps about all things bookish and social media...
- writing about the coolest new kids on the digital book block in my series "The Digitizers" over at TeleRead...
- Chatting with book bloggers, reviewers, and other friendly movers and shakers in the book community at NetGalley's bookish blog, "Follow the Reader"...
- or just blogging here about some things bookish and some things whatnot.
What was my point? Oh, that's right -- I am also somewhat easily distracted--and as I am a veritable Jack (or Jill, as it were) of all-things-publishing/social media (and mistress of none)--this blog will no doubt become the publishing and social media world's answer to the "half-assed science report."
Bookish/Social Media Ideas, to me, are like shiny pretty objects. Look, a bird...
